Today, Friday June 13th 2008 The Letzigrund Stadium in Zurich will host a very important game
between Romania and Italy, bought teams need to win this game especially Italy, there will be
no excuses to Italy this time because if they loose automatically they are eliminated
from Uefa Euro 2008. Roberto Donadoni, Italy’s coach will change some of his players who
played against Netherlands.

There will be four or five changes to his starting lineup for today’s Euro 2008 Group C
compared with the first match against Netherlands.
Giorgio Chiellini and Alessandro Del Piero will be heading,
but I haven’t mentioned any other names.;explained Donadoni.

After Italy’s bad performance in the first match of Group C against Holland,
which resulted in Italy’s worst result in 25 years, the test today is Romania who will play for a win
especially after a draw against France 0-0 that has kept their chances of qualification.

Romania coach Victor Piţurcă:”Italy need the victory more than we do,Italy are the favourites,
but we came here to put on a good display and our main aim is to qualify for the knockout stage.”

starting lineup [Italy]: Roberto Donadoni
1 Gianluigi Buffon »2 Christian Panucci »3 Fabio Grosso »4 Giorgio Chiellini »7 Alessandro Del Piero »
9 Luca Toni »10 Daniele De Rossi »16 Mauro Camoranesi »19 Gianluca Zambrotta »20 Simone Perrotta »
21 Andrea Pirlo »

starting lineup [Romania]: Victor Piţurcă
1 Bogdan Lobonţ »2 Cosmin Contra »3 Răzvan Raţ »4 Gabriel Tamaş »5 Cristian Chivu »6 Mirel Rădoi »
7 Florentin Petre »8 Paul Codrea »10 Adrian Mutu »15 Dorin Goian »21 Daniel Niculae »

Referee:Tom Henning Øvrebø (NOR)
Date: June 13, 2008
Stadium:ZÜRICH – Letzigrund
Kick-Off Time: 12.00pm (Est USA Time)

My Prediction: 3-1 for Italy, what do you think?
feel free to leave your predictions in the comments box.

  1. Great game for Romania, Italy played better than their first match against Netherlands but just a good performance is not sufficient for Donadoni to save Italy from being eliminated from the first round.
Luca Toni scored 100% valid goal but the referee did not accept it (offside)
I hope that Italy win this game.
